Statement of Achievement

My leadership journey began in high school, where I created and led my school's first-ever newspaper. A range of other extra-curriculum activities followed, however, the most prominent leadership experience I've had to date, which also started during this period, is my role as a Wild Rhino Youth Ambassador with the Wilderness Foundation Africa.

Upon relocating to Australia, I applied my leadership skills in three different roles at Deakin University. Additionally, within the Geelong community, I took on the role of leader for the 3220 Beach Patrol and became a Nature Ambassador for Conservation Volunteers Australia. I also founded and currently lead the Deakin-CCMA Waterwatch group.

Additionally, I have also been progressing as an upcoming actress in the Vietnamese film industry and recently won a  'Best Actress' award for the film 'Glorious Ashes'.

High School

School Newspaper - Saigoneer;
School Charity Group

During high school, I founded my school's first newspaper from scratch. This initiative was noteworthy because it was my school's first-ever student-led extra-curriculum activity. The skills that I gained from this opportunity led me to join Saigoneer - a prestigious English-language newspaper in Vietnam - during my gap year.

Also, thanks to the success of the school newspaper, I was asked to take over the leadership role for a school charity group which supports girls who are at risk of abuse or were victims of abuse, and also to take on the leadership and management role for my school's first-ever triathlon.

I was selected to be a Wild Rhino Youth Ambassador with the Wilderness Foundation Africa during high school. During my gap year, I was invited to work with the Wilderness Foundation Africa's Wild Rhino Vietnam Campaign. This involved raising awareness of rhino poaching and rhino horn trading in Vietnam, a country widely acknowledged as the focus of a multi-million dollar endangered wildlife trafficking network. My work there formed part of an initiative to discourage the consumption of endangered wildlife products and tackle organised crime. In addition to benefitting the local community, this work also contributed to global efforts to save the rhino from extinction.

At Deakin, I've taken on three student ambassador roles - Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) mentor, Student Experience Ambassador and DeakinTalent Ambassador. As a PASS mentor, my primary responsibility is to provide academic support and leadership to students who are enrolled in the same units of study in which I have excelled. As a Student Experience Ambassador, my role is to represent Deakin University and actively participate in various health and well-being programs. Lastly, as a DeakinTalent Ambassador, I serve as the front-facing representative of the careers and employment services offered by Deakin University.

As a Geelong resident, I feel I have a responsibility to give back to the local community which is why I have taken on several community roles relating to my field of study. One of my most prominent activities is as co-leader of the local Beach Patrol group, which hosts rubbish collection events all around the Geelong region. I am also a Nature Ambassador for Conservation Volunteers Australia which advocates for the reduced use of plastic. Lastly, I am the founder and leader of the Deakin-CCMA Waterwatch group, which monitors the water quality of the creek near the University Waurn Ponds campus.

Acting Career

As an adjunct to my academic studies I have also embarked on a highly successful career as a film actor. I landed my first film role at the age of 13, and managed to win a Best Actress award for my role in the film Glorious Ashes in 2022. I believe my acting career has helped to equip me with the skills required for leadership.
